Commemoration Day
Commemoration Day is traditionally a significant day in the school calendar wherein members of the school community – students, staff and friends meet to commemorate those who have been instrumental in establishment of the institution. We draw our inspiration from the first woman President of India – Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil – a beacon of light for all citizens of India. Being born as a girl child in a conservative rural family, she overcame societal challenges to get educated and began a 50 year political journey in to become the first citizen of India in 2007. We celebrate her birthday, 19th December as our Commemoration Day so that her life journey continues to inspire all students who pass through the portals of this institution.

Hon. Former President Pratibha Maam’s Message
Dear students, parents and staff members of Akshara International School,My heartfelt greetings to all of you on the 10th Commemoration Day of the school.I vividly remember the day when I visited the school in 2010 – it had just taken shape in the form of the building to welcome its students. And today it has grown up to Class XII with 2000 plus students.I congratulate the students, teachers and leadership team on this growth the excellent results in Board and competitive exams.One of the goals of education is to ensure that its students grow up as good citizens of the country. When I say good, it does not mean only professional contribution, it is also about being good human beings where they care about their family, local community and the country.My congratulations to Akshara’s management team on their focus in instilling good values and especially the mindfulness program. This is necessary for character building as education without values is like a flower without fragrance.My best wishes to all of you for higher laurels in the years to come.

Commemoration Day 2021 was celebrated by the students with fun and gaiety like in previous years even though it was done so virtually due to lockdown restriction. Each grade had their individual function a day before wherein student recorded their cultural performance and shared the same online.

Annual School Report Highlights
Akshara International School celebrated its 10th Commemoration Day on 19th Dec., 2020 virtually with students using technology innovatively to present memorable class wise performances. Character building values which each Aksharite endeavours to imbibe were made theme of various class functions to use the occasion as our commitment towards inculcating these values.
Ten Years Journey of Akshara International School - Miles to go
- 2010 –> Akshara moves into new campus at Wakad.
- 2011 –> Computer and Science labs setup.
- 2012 –> Declared as “New Generation School” by CBSE.
- 2013 –> First batch of Class X passes out with 100% success.
- 2014 –> Digitization of school operations – Digital Campus software rolled out.
- 2015 –> Ignite Sports event graced by former Prez Mrs. Pratibha Patil and Zaheer Khan.
- 2016 –> Cultural festival Athenaeum launched/ First batch of Class XII passes with 100% success.
- 2017 –> First competitive exams success with selection in IIT, IISER.
- 2018 –> Spandan fest in Aid of Kerala Relief.
- 2019 –> International School Award (ISA) from British Council.
- 2020 –> Humanities stream and Skills subject (AI, ML) offered.

Swami Vivekananda had said, “We want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand on one’s feet”. It is indeed gratifying to note that in keeping this noble objective in mind, the Akshara International School, Pune has been striving to create globally aware but culturally rooted individuals prepared for lifelong learning .
I am pleased to note that the School has received awards and recognitions from various international forums for embedding an international dimension within the curriculum and for nurturing intercultural understanding and appreciation of sustainable dimension goals.
The School deserves compliments for providing an environment to academic excellence, intellectual growth, mindfulness skills, art, sports, community service and team spirit.
